Locust

While apply color I used a few photo textures to the background as well as play with motion blur to give it that rushed feeling.

After photo bashing I went in and gave the image a background so that the white wouldn't disrupt my values when painting. I then painted over and define the forms until it is ready for color.

After selecting the silhouette that I like, I went in and photo bashed a few elements to add familiarity to the vehicle. I went with "B" because I like the look of black hawk helicopter and wanted to ground this vehicle more rather than have it super scifi.

Silhouettes explorations for a gunship. I don't like to work with straight black silhouettes because they present enough form so I tend to paint these shapes using a mask with random shapes generated from alchemy. This gives me room for happy accidents and presents quick forms and values for me to work with.
